Bwthyn Glanllyn

Bwthyn Glanllyn is a detached cottage right on the shore of Bala Lake. It's in Llanuwchllyn, which is in the Snowdonia National Park.

The cottage sleeps six, has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's well-equipped and comfortable, but it's not a show home. It's a practical place for a holiday.

You can get straight onto the lake from the property. People use it for sailing, paddle boarding, kayaking, that sort of thing. If you want proper white water rafting, it's about five miles away.

The patio is at the side. It's enclosed and has a table, chairs, and a barbecue. The view looks over the lake towards the Aran mountain.

There's a separate games room in an outbuilding. It's got a pool table and table tennis.

One thing to know is the access. The cottage is next to a touring caravan park that's open from Easter to mid-October. When it's open, you drive through the park entrance to get to the cottage. The rest of the year, you use the farm entrance. It's straightforward once you know.

Bala town is three miles away. It's got a Co-op, some butchers, cafes, and a few places to eat. There's a cycle and footpath straight from the cottage into town, so you can leave the car.

For walking, you're in the national park, so you can start from the door. For mountain biking, Coed y Brenin forest is about half an hour's drive. The coast, like Tywyn or Barmouth, is about 45 minutes if you fancy the beach.

Facilities wise: it's all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, TV, parking. Bedding and towels are included. No pets, sorry.
