Dol Afon

Dol Afon is up near Rhosdylluan in Gwynedd. It's a stone barn we converted. Detached, so it's on its own. The views from here are good, really open. You get a proper enclosed garden and patio.

It sleeps seven. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms, so that helps with the morning queue. It's got a 4 Star rating. It means it's comfortable and well-equipped, but it's not a hotel. It's a family house.

You've got the basics: a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. There's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. We've also got a games room, which is useful if the weather turns. Bikes can be stored. Parking is on site.

The local pub is about half a mile away. They do meals. The nearest shop is the same sort of distance.

The river runs through the grounds and you can fish there if that's your thing. You can walk straight out from the door. Bala Lake is a short drive. You can sail or windsurf there, or take a trip on the steam railway.

For the bigger things, you're right on the edge of Snowdonia. It's about a 30 minute drive to white water rafting at the National White Water Centre, or to some of the main walking routes. A bit further and you're into the heart of the National Park. The coast at Harlech is within half an hour as well.

Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. No pets, sorry.
