A brief bit of history Purlins, which is over two floors, forms part of 56 High Street a Grade II* listed property in the heart of the medieval city of Salisbury. It was one of the first buildings to be built outside of the walled area around the cathedral called The Close. A timber framed building built in the 1400’s, later covered externally with mathematical tiles. It has modern conveniences alongside old features such as an inglenook fireplace, the exposed timber frame and many quirks that have stood the test of time and are long gone in modern building styles.
