This is Hall Farm. It’s in Shouldham Thorpe, which is a very quiet part of Norfolk. The house is old, from the 1700s. It’s a listed building so you’ll find some low beams and a few quirky corners.
It sleeps eighteen, so it suits big groups. There are nine bedrooms and five bathrooms. It’s a 4 Star place, so it’s comfortable and well-equipped, but it’s still a farmhouse, not a hotel.
The main thing is the space. There are large gardens and you have your own heated swimming pool indoors. There’s also a sauna and an outdoor spa tub. There’s a games room with table tennis and football.
The kitchen is big enough for several people to be in there at once. There’s a woodburning stove in the sitting room. Bedding and towels are included.
You can bring up to two dogs. There’s a washing machine and dishwasher. Plenty of parking.
The location is very rural. The nearest proper pub is about two miles away. You’re surrounded by quiet lanes, so walking or cycling from the door is easy.
Downham Market is four miles for shops. Kings Lynn is about nine miles for cinemas and supermarkets.
The North Norfolk coast with its beaches is about a forty minute drive. Places like Hunstanton or the RSPB reserves at Snettisham are up there. RSPB Snettisham is a good one for birdwatching.
Further afield, Sandringham is about half an hour’s drive. Ely Cathedral is maybe forty minutes south. Cambridge is just over an hour.
