Gable Barn is one of the cottages at Thorpland Manor Farm, near Downham Market. It's a working farm, so you'll see fields and animals. It's very quiet out here.
The barn sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bathroom is a wet room on the ground floor, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well looked after. The owners live on site in the farmhouse, so they're there if you need anything.
You get your own patio area with a BBQ. The main reason to book here, I think, is the shared facilities. There's a heated outdoor swimming pool that's open in summer, a games room, and a hot tub. There's also a kids' play area. You're free to walk around the farm grounds. There's coarse fishing on one of the ponds if you have a rod license.
The location is rural. The nearest shop and a pub that does food are about a mile and a half away in the village. You'll need a car.
For days out, Sandringham House and the park are a straightforward drive. The north Norfolk coast, with places like Hunstanton and the bird reserves, is within half an hour or so. If you're interested in history, Oxburgh Hall is a interesting moated manor house run by the National Trust.
In terms of what's here: all bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, cot and highchair. Wi-Fi works. There's parking right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
