Largs Brisbane Cottage
Largs Brisbane Cottage is one of those ground-floor end terraces near the seafront in Largs. It's got its own little patio garden out the back. It's compact, but it does for four people.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms and there's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. We take one well-behaved dog.
The location is the main thing. You're about a five-minute walk from the promenade and the shore. There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant within a couple of hundred yards. The house is on a residential street, so you get the town buzz.
From here you can get the ferries out to the islands. Great Cumbrae is just across the water, and you can get to Arran and Bute from the terminal too. The ferry to Dunoon gets you over to the Cowal peninsula, which is the back way into Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.
If you're walking, the Ayrshire Coastal Path starts just up the coast in Skelmorlie. For a day out, Culzean Castle and its country park are about half an hour south by car. Golf at Turnberry is also within a 30-minute drive.
Facilities are all there: WiFi, TV, washing machine, bedding and towels are included. There's a cot if you need it. The parking is on-street.
