Shuma Apartment
Shuma Apartment is in Skelmorlie. It's a flat right on the shore, literally a few yards from the water. You get a great view across to Bute and the mountains from the main windows.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. There's parking on site.
The flat itself is spacious. You've got a washing machine, towels and bedding are provided, and there's WiFi. Because it's right on the coast path, you can get a bit of foot traffic past the garden, but it's not busy.
In the village, there's a shop and a couple of takeaways. The local pub is about a mile and a half walk. The better bet for a train or a ferry is Wemyss Bay, which is a few minutes down the road. The station there is nice, it's got a cafe, and the trains go straight into Glasgow. The ferries to the Isle of Bute leave from there too. It's a good day trip.
Largs is a short drive away if you need more shops or restaurants. For walking, you're right on the start of the Ayrshire Coastal Path. If you drive, you're within half an hour of a lot of the big Ayrshire golf courses, like Royal Troon.
Culzean Castle is about a 25-minute drive. It's worth it for the setting on the cliffs. Dumfries House is a similar distance inland.
