Ardmore Meigle

This is Ardmore. It's a ground-floor apartment that was part of the old stables for the big house up the drive. You get a view of the garden and the woods from your own patio. There are two other apartments in the same block if you've got a bigger group.

It sleeps five. Two bedrooms and a sofa bed in the lounge. Both bedrooms are ensuite, which is handy. It's a 3 Star, so it's comfortable and clean, not luxurious. The main bed is a king-size.

The grounds are about 15 acres. You're welcome to walk around them. It's very quiet. The big house is set back, about three minutes' walk up the drive.

Largs is a couple of miles away. It's a proper seaside town with shops, a supermarket, and a few pubs. The Vikingar centre is there if the weather turns. You can get a ferry from Largs over to Great Cumbrae Island for the day. Millport on Cumbrae is nice for a bike ride. The Waverley paddle steamer calls in at Largs in the summer, which is a nice trip.

For getting out on the water, the sailing is good from Largs Yacht Haven. There are a couple of golf courses nearby. If you want to go further, you can drive down to Ardrossan for the ferry to Arran, or up to Wemyss Bay for the one to Bute. Glasgow is about 45 minutes by car if you need a city day.

Facilities: there's parking right outside. The garden patio is yours to use. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
