Ardmore Meigle

Ardmore is a converted stable on an old estate near Largs. It's one of a few holiday places in the grounds. The main house is up the drive a bit, you can see it from the windows. You get your own patio area with a table.

It sleeps five in two bedrooms, which are upstairs. There are two bathrooms, one downstairs, one up. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean. You can bring one dog.

The grounds are about 15 acres. You're free to walk around them. They're wooded, with some lawn. The view from here is good: you look out towards the islands in the Firth of Clyde.

Largs is two miles away. It's a proper town with shops, a supermarket, and pubs. There's a leisure centre there with a pool. You can get the ferry from Largs over to Great Cumbrae island. Millport on Cumbrae is nice for a day out.

For getting out on the water, the Waverley paddle steamer sometimes runs trips from nearby. The ferry to the Isle of Arran goes from Ardrossan, which is about a 25 minute drive south. Arran's got walks, like up Goatfell, and golf courses.

If you want to drive further, Loch Lomond and Glasgow are about an hour away. Burns country around Ayr is closer, maybe 40 minutes.

What's here: there's a patio garden, on-site parking, a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. There's a local pub a couple of miles away.
