Strathspey
I own Strathspey, which is one of the holiday apartments at Manor Park near Largs. It’s converted from an old stable block, about 200 yards up the drive from the main Victorian house.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, both with their own bathrooms. It’s got a 3 Star rating, so it’s clean and comfortable but not luxurious. You’ve got your own patio area with a table and chairs, and you’re welcome to use the 15 acres of grounds around the house. The views from here over the Firth of Clyde to the islands are really good.
Largs is a couple of miles away. It’s a proper seaside town with shops, supermarkets, pubs, and a station. There’s a leisure centre with a pool and a theatre. The famous “Waverley” paddle steamer sails from there in the summer. You can get a ferry from Largs over to Great Cumbrae Island.
Golf, fishing, sailing and pony trekking are all available nearby. Within about an hour’s drive you can get to Loch Lomond, Glasgow, or Burns Country in Ayr. The ferry to the Isle of Arran goes from Ardrossan, which is about a half hour drive south.
Facilities: bedding and towels are included. There’s a travel cot if you need it. Parking is right outside. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
