Strathisla is one of three holiday apartments in the old stable block here. The main Victorian house is up the drive, about a minute's walk away. You're just outside Meigle, near Largs.
It sleeps six people. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's a 3 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but not high-end. The main thing is the space outside. You've got 15 acres of grounds and woodland to walk around, and your own patio area. The view looks out over the Firth of Clyde towards the islands.
The nearest pub is about two and a half miles away, in Largs. Largs itself is a couple of miles down the road. It's a proper little town with shops, supermarkets, a few places to eat, and a station. It's a seaside spot, but it's not flashy. The 'Waverley' paddle steamer still does trips from there in the season, which is a nice way to see the coast.
If you're here with kids, there's a lot within a half hour drive. Largs has the Vikingar leisure centre with a pool. The Kelburn Country Centre is nearby too. You can get the ferry from Largs over to Great Cumbrae island in about ten minutes. Millport's on the other side, it's a quiet cycle or drive around.
For a bigger day out, the ferry from Wemyss Bay to the Isle of Bute takes about half an hour. The ferry to Arran from Ardrossan is about the same drive away. Goatfell on Arran is a good walk if you're up for it.
Glasgow is under an hour's drive if you need a city day. Loch Lomond and Burns Country around Ayr are also within that range.
Facilities are what you'd expect. There's parking, a washing machine, a cot and highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. One well-behaved dog is allowed. The garden is shared with the other two apartments, but it's a big space so you won't be on top of each other.
