Glenfiddich is in Meigle, just outside Largs. It's a one bedroom flat on the ground floor of a converted stable block. The main Victorian house is a couple of hundred yards up the drive for the photos, it's nothing to do with you.
It sleeps three, which really means two adults and maybe a child on the sofa bed. It's a 3 Star property. It's clean and comfortable but basic, no frills. Being on the ground floor makes it easy for getting stuff in and out.
You have your own little patio area. The big gardens and 15 acres of grounds around you are shared with the other holiday flats, but there's plenty of space. The view from the lawn over the Firth of Clyde is the best bit, you can see the islands on a clear day.
Largs is about two miles down the road. It's a proper town with supermarkets, a few shops, and some pubs. It's on the sea. The Waverley paddle steamer calls in from there sometimes in the summer, which is a nice trip if it's running.
You're well placed for the islands. The ferry to Great Cumbrae is from Largs, and Millport on the island is worth a trip. The ferry to Bute is at Wemyss Bay, about 20 minutes' drive. If you head down to Ardrossan, about half an hour, you can get the ferry over to Arran for the day.
Round here, you've got two golf courses very close by. There's pony trekking and some walking trails in the area too. If you drive for an hour, you can reach Loch Lomond, or get into Glasgow.
Facilities: it's all open plan living. There's a shower, not a bath. Parking is right outside. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
