Lochnagar Meigle

Lochnagar is in Meigle, Ayrshire. It's a stable block conversion for one of the big houses up the drive. You get your own place, but the main house is about 200 yards away through the trees. It's in about 15 acres of grounds, mostly woodland and lawns. The view looks out over the Firth of Clyde. You can see the hills and the islands on a clear day.

It's a one bedroom apartment, sleeps three. There's a double bed and a single sofa bed in the living space. One bathroom with a shower. It's a 3 Star, so it's comfortable and clean. The layout is open plan.

You can bring one dog. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside.

The local pub is about two and a half miles away. Largs is two miles. It's a proper seaside town with shops, a supermarket, and a station. You can get the ferry from there to Great Cumbrae. Millport on Cumbrae is good for a bike ride. The Waverley paddle steamer calls in at Largs in the summer too.

From Wemyss Bay, you can get the ferry to Bute. Ardrossan is about half an hour's drive for the ferry to Arran. If you walk, Goatfell on Arran is the big one. Golf is easy. There are two courses nearby and about six over on Arran.
