Island Escape Millport

Island Escape is a ground floor flat in Millport, on the Isle of Cumbrae. It's about 100 yards from the water. You can see the bay from the front.

It's for two people. One bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating, so it's comfortable. Because it's all on the ground floor, it's fairly straightforward to get around.

The flat has its own enclosed patio area out the back. Inside, there's a woodburning stove for cooler evenings. We've put in a dishwasher and a washing machine. The bedding and towels are included. WiFi is there.

You can bring up to two dogs. There's also a cot and a highchair if you need them.

Millport itself is small. There's a shop, a couple of pubs, and places to eat about the same distance away, 100 yards or so. The beach is sandy and the promenade is lined with those palm trees they're known for. It's good for a stroll.

The whole island is only about ten miles around, so it's perfect for cycling. You can hire bikes in the town. There's a golf course. The sea is right there if you want to fish or get out on the water. The National Watersports Centre is on the island if you fancied trying something.

For a day out, you can get the ferry from Largs over to the mainland. From there, Culzean Castle is about a half hour drive down the coast. It's worth the trip.
