Dykenamar

Dykenamar is a detached house in Kilchattan Bay on the Isle of Bute. It's right by the beach, maybe twenty seconds' walk to the sand. You can see the sea from some of the windows.

It sleeps six, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. The ground floor is accessible for wheelchairs, so that's good if you need it. There's a garden and parking for your car.

The village has a post office that does tea and coffee, and an inn that does decent food. The little stone pier is just there if you've brought a small boat or jetski to launch.

Rothesay is a few miles up the road. It's the main town, feels very Victorian. There's a castle, a museum, and the usual shops. You can get boat trips from the harbour on the Waverley, the last sea-going paddle steamer.

For things to do, there are three golf courses on the island. Lots of walking, like the West Island Way. You can hire kayaks. The sea fishing is meant to be very good. If you're lucky, you might see seals or dolphins from the beach.

Occasionally there are festivals, like a jazz festival in May or ButeFest in July. It's quiet the rest of the time.

The house has WiFi, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
