Manor Farmhouse
Manor Farmhouse is in Little Mongeham, near Deal. It's a big old house, sleeps twelve, with six bedrooms and four bathrooms. So it's really for one or two families together, or a group of friends.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's well looked after, with decent linen and towels and all that. It's not minimalist. There's a lot of stuff in there. Books, DVDs, board games. There's a piano and a snooker table in the dining room. The garden is about an acre, with a patio. It's enclosed, so fine for dogs and children.
The house is very old, parts of it are Tudor. That means the floors are uneven in places. The stairs are normal for a house this age. If you have trouble with stairs, maybe think about it. It all just is what it is.
Practical things: it takes three pets. There's parking. All bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, a wood burner. You get WiFi. There's a cot and a highchair.
Location wise, you're in the countryside. Deal is about a ten minute drive. It's a proper seaside town with a long pier, a good beach, and some nice shops and places to eat. Sandwich is close too, which is very historic and has two big golf courses.
For walking, the White Cliffs Trail goes right past the house. It's a 28 mile loop through Dover, Deal and Sandwich. The countryside around here is good for cycling.
If you're planning days out, these sites are useful: National Trust South East and White Cliffs Country. Dover Castle is about twenty minutes by car. Canterbury is under half an hour.
