Manor Farmhouse

Manor Farmhouse is in Little Mongeham, Kent. It's an old house, parts of it date back to Tudor times. It sleeps twelve people, which makes it good for big family groups or friends sharing.

There are six bedrooms and four bathrooms. Two of the bedrooms have their own bathrooms. The floors are a bit uneven in places, which is normal for a house this old. The stairs are fine.

Downstairs there's a big farmhouse kitchen, a sitting room with a wood burner, and a large dining room. The dining room has a snooker table and a piano. French doors lead out to the patio and the garden. The garden is about an acre, enclosed by trees.

We've left some things for guests to use. There are books, DVDs, board games, and some garden games. There's also a Wii console. In the utility room you'll find a washing machine, plus some children's toys and buckets and spades for the beach. If you're bringing a dog, there's a bed and bowl there.

You can bring up to three dogs. Please keep them downstairs.

The house has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped, but not ultra-modern. It's a family home.

Little Mongeham itself is a small hamlet. Deal is a short drive away. It's a proper seaside town with a long pier, a good beach, and some nice independent shops and restaurants. Sandwich is also close. It's a historic town and has two championship golf courses.

The White Cliffs Trail, a 28-mile circular walk, goes past the farmhouse. It covers the coast between Dover and Deal and then loops back inland. For other nearby walks or places to visit, the National Trust White Cliffs of Dover page is useful. So is the Visit Kent site for planning days out.

In terms of facilities, pretty much everything is included: bedding, towels, WiFi, parking for several cars. There's a dishwasher, a BBQ, and a highchair and cot if you need them.
