The Coach House
The Coach House is in Sandwich, Kent. It's a barn conversion on a working farm. The main house is next door, but it's private. You get your own garden, which is fenced in.
It sleeps eight in four bedrooms. There are three bathrooms. It's got a 5 Star rating, which means it's well-equipped and finished to a good standard. Everything is on one level, so it's good for accessibility. The doorways are wide and there's a walk-in shower.
You're on a private estate, so you get access to the beach without the usual visitor charge. It's about a 15 minute walk to the sand. It's a proper rural beach, not a resort.
The farm is active, so you'll see tractors and things. Next to the property is the Sandwich Bay Bird Observatory. If you like birds, it's fascinating. If not, it's just quiet.
Sandwich town is two miles away. It's a nice old medieval place with good pubs and shops. There's a railway station with a high-speed service to London if you need it.
For golf, Royal St George's is right here. There are a couple of other championship courses very close by too.
In the house, there's an open-plan living area with a wood burner. It has WiFi, a dishwasher, a washing machine, and parking. There's an electric vehicle charging point. We allow one well-behaved dog.
Within half an hour you can get to Dover Castle and the White Cliffs, or the cathedral at Canterbury. The port at Ramsgate is about 20 minutes away.
