Anchor Cottage
Anchor Cottage is in Deal, on a quiet back street. It's a terraced house, built in the 1800s. Sleeps four, with two bedrooms and one bathroom. It has a 4 Star rating.
The front door is low. You might need to duck a bit going in. It's just something that comes with an old house.
Inside, there's an open-plan kitchen and dining area, and a living room with a woodburning stove. The bathroom has a roll-top bath. It's cosy, not huge, but it does the job for a small group.
You're about a ten-minute walk from the beach and the pier. There's a shop, a pub, and a restaurant within five hundred yards. The pub is old, from the 1700s. There's also a micro pub and cocktail bar just round the corner.
For things to do, Deal and Walmer Castles are close by. The English Heritage site has the details. If you want a different beach, Broadstairs and Viking Bay are a short drive up the coast.
Canterbury is about half an hour away by car or train. You can see the cathedral and walk the old walls. Further afield, the ferries to France go from Dover, which is about twenty minutes down the road.
In terms of what's there, it has a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's an enclosed patio garden out the back. One well-behaved dog is allowed.
