Pines Cottage is in St Margaret's at Cliffe, near Dover. It's a detached place, sleeps eight, all on one level, which is handy. Four bedrooms, each with its own bathroom.
The garden and the view are the main things. You've got a patio that looks out over the garden, woodland, and a bit of sea. The beach and the coastal path are basically on your doorstep. You get access to the six acres of Pines Garden too, which has a tea room.
The owner's really into being sustainable. They've used recycled materials wherever they could. The carpets are made from old fishing nets and things, the paint has no solvents. The garden is run organically, with a lake and fruit trees. It's interesting if you're into that.
Inside, it's open plan, with a modern kitchen. It's got a 4 Star rating. There's parking, an electric car charger, WiFi, all the usual stuff like a washing machine and dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and a highchair.
There's a pub right on the beach about two minutes' walk away. You need to book if you want food. The village of St Margaret's at Cliffe is a short bus ride away. The nearest train station is at Martin Mill, about three miles.
For walks, you've got the White Cliffs and the coast. Dover Castle is about ten minutes by car. Deal is maybe twenty minutes up the coast. Folkestone and its harbour are about a twenty-five minute drive.
