Snooty Fox Cottage
This is Snooty Fox Cottage. It’s next to our place, on the edge of Hexham Racecourse. The view from the garden is out over fields towards the racecourse track. It’s quiet here.
It’s a single-storey cottage, converted from stables. There’s one bedroom with a bed that can be either two singles or a super king. The bathroom has both a bath and a separate shower. The main room is open-plan, with the kitchen at one end and the living area at the other. French doors open onto the private garden. There’s parking for two cars.
It’s about a mile and a half into Hexham town centre. You can walk it in about half an hour if you use the footpaths through the grounds. Hexham has a good market, plenty of places to eat, and a leisure centre with a pool. The Old Gaol is worth a look.
You’re right on the edge of Hadrian’s Wall country here. Corbridge Roman Town is about a ten-minute drive. Vindolanda is maybe twenty minutes away. For a longer day out, Newcastle city centre is roughly half an hour by car.
Inside, there’s underfloor heating, a wood burner, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. We provide the bedding and towels. One well-behaved dog is welcome. The garden is fully enclosed.
