The Gingang
The Gingang is a cottage for two people. It's attached to the main house, where we live. It's about a mile from Hexham.
It's got a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room. The rating is 3 Star. That means it's clean, comfortable, and everything works, but it's not a luxury hotel. It's a cottage.
You get the little garden area to yourselves. The views from there are over the fields. It's quiet.
Hexham's a proper market town. There's a shop, a few pubs that do food, and the abbey. The racecourse is nearby. If you like walking, you can pick up paths straight from here. Northumberland National Park is on the doorstep.
The big thing here is the history. Hadrian's Wall is about a 15 minute drive away. The Housesteads Roman Fort is a good one to visit. Corbridge is ten minutes in the car, it's nice for a wander by the river.
In the cottage, there's a TV, WiFi, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. We've also put in an electric vehicle charger.
It's a good spot for seeing the area. You can be in Durham, Newcastle, or the edges of the Lake District in under an hour if you want a day out.
