Wall is a small village. There's a Michelin-starred restaurant, The Rat Inn, a few minutes' walk away. You have to book that well in advance. There's also a pub, The Milecastle Inn, about a ten-minute walk.

You're right on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. Hadrian's Wall is on your doorstep. You can drive to Sycamore Gap and the Vindolanda Roman Fort in about 20 minutes.

Hexham is about a 15-minute drive. It's a market town with a racecourse, an abbey, and shops. Corbridge, which is Roman, is about the same distance.

For a day out, you can drive to the coast in just over an hour. Places like Bamburgh with its castle, or Amble.

It's got WiFi, a cot and highchair if needed, and all bedding and towels are included. There's a washing machine.
