The Miners House
The Miners House is in Walmer, which is basically Deal. It's a terraced cottage. Sleeps four, two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-fitted.
You get a small enclosed garden out the back. It's a sun trap in the afternoon. There's a washing machine and a dishwasher. Parking is on-site, which is handy. We accept one well-behaved dog.
Walmer Castle is just down the road. It's English Heritage, so members get in free. Worth a look for the gardens alone. Walmer Castle and Gardens.
The beach is about a mile and a half away. It's shingle, but it's a good long walk. Deal Pier is a proper landmark. The high street has independent shops and a few decent pubs. The Black Pig does good food.
Within half an hour you can get to Dover for the Castle and White Cliffs, or Sandwich for the golf. Ramsgate and Broadstairs are along the coast that way too. Folkestone has the Creative Quarter and the Harbour Arm.
