The Weighbridge is on the old Clifton on Trent railway station site right on the border with Lincolnshire. It's a detached little house, so it's just you and the fields. It sleeps two people. One bedroom, one shower room.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's comfortable and well-equipped, but it's not huge. The open-plan space is fine for two. There's a log burner for winter evenings. The garden is enclosed with a picket fence, just a patio really. You look out over the fields. There are alpacas in the next field, which is a bit different.
You can bring one dog. There's parking right there and a bike rack for two bikes.
If you like walking or cycling, it's very good for that. You're straight onto the old railway line path. You can cycle all the way into Lincoln, about 12 miles and mostly traffic-free. Or you can go the other way over the Fledborough Viaduct and along the Trent.
Lincoln is about a 25 minute drive. The castle and cathedral are up on the hill. Newark is about the same distance the other way.
A bit further out, you've got Doddington Hall which is about five miles away. Sherwood Forest is around half an hour's drive. The Peak District National Park is about 45 minutes if you want proper hills.
For planning days out, these sites are useful: National Trust East Midlands, Visit Nottinghamshire, and Visit Lincolnshire.
