Redroofs Barn

This is Redroofs Barn, near Weston in Nottinghamshire. It's a barn conversion next to a working farm, so you're looking out over fields.

It sleeps six, but it's two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bedrooms are upstairs, off a little reading area. Downstairs is all one space: kitchen, dining area, living room. The living room has big windows facing the farm. There's a wood burner, but it's ornamental, so it doesn't actually work. The stairs are standard.

The place has a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-equipped. There's a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. The garden is enclosed gravel, with a table and chairs.

You can have up to three dogs. We've got a stairgate and a highchair if you need them.

It's a quiet spot. The nearest pub and shop are about a mile away in the village. There are a few other decent pubs serving food within a short drive.

Newark's the closest town, about ten minutes by car. They've got a castle, some shops, and the showground has events. Sherwood Forest is about twenty minutes away. It's good for a walk, you can see the Major Oak. For bikes or Go Ape, you'd go to Sherwood Pines.

Southwell is also twenty minutes. It's a nice little town with a famous minster and the National Trust Workhouse. Lincoln is about the same distance in the other direction, with the castle and cathedral.

If you've got children, places like White Post Farm are nearby. The coast is just over an hour away.

The A1 is about three miles away, so it's easy to get to things. Trains from Newark or Retford.
