The Oaks Llangollen

The Oaks is a detached cottage a couple of miles outside Llangollen. It sleeps two, one bedroom, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's modern and quite smart inside.

The place was built by the previous owner, so there's a lot of oak woodwork. The main room is open plan. The bedroom has a kingsize bed and a TV. The bathroom has a skylight.

There's a proper enclosed garden. It has a patio with seating and a hot tub. The views are good, looking out over fields.

We take up to two dogs. There's a separate heated dog room inside, which they call a doghouse. It has a door into the main living area so they're not shut away, and their own door out to the garden.

Facilities are all there: WiFi, parking, bedding and towels included. The kitchen has what you'd need. It's all electric.

Llangollen is about five minutes by car. It's got the canal, the steam railway, and the aqueduct. The Llangollen town website has details. The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is UNESCO, well worth seeing.

For walking, you're close to the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Snowdonia National Park is about a 30 minute drive to the west. The National Trust in Wales has properties like Chirk Castle nearby.

There's a local pub within walking distance, and a golf course.
