Yr Hen Bwthyn

This is Yr Hen Bwthyn, in Llangollen. An old cottage really, right in the middle of town. It's Grade II listed so the walls are thick and the ceilings are low.

It sleeps three. Two bedrooms upstairs, one with a big bed, one with a single. Bathroom's upstairs too, just a bath with a shower over it. You get one parking space.

The stairs are steep. They're the original cottage stairs. Just take your time.

You can walk to everything. Shops, pubs, cafes. Once you're here, you probably won't need the car unless you're going out of town.

From the door you can walk up to the old castle on the hill, Castell Dinas Bran. It's a proper steep climb but the view's worth it. You can also pick up the canal path easily. The Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is a short drive away. It's a World Heritage site. You can walk across it.

The Llangollen Steam Railway station is about a ten minute walk. They do trips up the Dee Valley.

If you want to drive out, Chirk Castle is about fifteen minutes. It's National Trust. Corwen and the larger towns like Wrexham are within half an hour.

The place has a wood burner. There's a dishwasher. Wifi is included. All bedding and towels are here. The entrance is level so it's accessible to get in.
