Rose Cottage is in Peldon, Essex. It's a brick and flint upside-down house. That means the bedrooms are on the ground floor and the main living area is upstairs. It's done that way so you get the long views from the sitting room.
It sleeps four. Two bedrooms, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. The living space upstairs is open plan with French doors leading out onto a sitting area. It's a good spot for a morning coffee.
The stairs are a standard flight, not a spiral. There is an enclosed garden and parking on site.
The local pub, The Peldon Rose, is about a five-minute walk up the road. They serve food. Mersea Island is a short drive away. It's worth checking the tide times before you go over the causeway, as it can get cut off for an hour or so with a very high tide.
From Mersea, you can walk the coastal paths. They have seafood places there, known for oysters. For a more traditional seaside day, you can drive to Frinton, Walton, or Clacton-on-Sea, all within about 30 minutes. Colchester is about 20 minutes away. It's got the castle, a zoo, and the usual shops.
The cottage has WiFi, a TV, a cot and highchair if needed, and bedding is included. No pets.
