The Coach House

The Coach House is near Gilwern in Monmouthshire. It's a detached, Grade II listed building. The main thing is it's got a private, heated outdoor pool you can use from May to September. The pool area is enclosed. You can sit out there and look at the view over the Usk Valley towards Sugar Loaf.

It sleeps six. There are three bedrooms and three bathrooms. Two bedrooms are king-size with their own shower rooms. The third has a super-king bed that can be made into two singles if you ask beforehand. That one uses a separate shower room on the lower floor. All the bedrooms are on the entrance level.

The living space is downstairs. There's a sitting room with a wood burner and a kitchen-diner. The stairs going down are a typical cottage staircase, so they're a bit steep and winding. Something to be aware of if you have mobility issues or very small children. We provide a stairgate.

You've got direct access onto the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal from the property. You can walk east about half a mile to Gilwern for a pub and a shop. Walking west about two and a half miles takes you into Crickhowell, which has more pubs, shops and places to eat.

It's a good base for the Brecon Beacons. Abergavenny is about a 15-minute drive for bigger supermarkets. For walking, Sugar Loaf is close by. The Brecon Beacons National Park Authority site has lots of route ideas.

Facilities include a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and parking. All bedding and towels are provided. We also have a cot and highchair. Sorry, no pets.
