The Chapel isn't a whole house. It's a studio space attached to our main place, Dan Y Graig. There's a private entrance round the side.
It's one room for two people. King-size bed at one end, a small kitchenette and a table at the other. The bathroom is an en-suite. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable. The bed linen and towels are good quality. There's a wood burner, which is nice to have on in the evenings. The Wifi is decent.
There are three windows looking out over the valley towards the Sugarloaf. You get a small patio area outside your door with a couple of chairs. The view is the same from there.
You're between Gilwern and Crickhowell. Gilwern has a shop and a couple of pubs about a mile away. Crickhowell is two miles the other way. That's got more: a good butcher, a baker, a few nice pubs and places to eat. The canal towpath is just down the lane. You can walk into Gilwern east along it, or west towards Crickhowell. It's flat.
For walking, the Brecon Beacons are right there. The Sugarloaf is a straightforward hill to climb. The Brecon & Monmouthshire canal information is on the Canal & River Trust site. For the wider area, Brecon Beacons National Park and Visit Wales have good guides.
Abergavenny is about a ten minute drive. There's a market on Tuesdays and Fridays. The National Trust Sugarloaf and Usk Valley pages have walking routes. Further out, within half an hour or so, you've got Hay-on-Wye for books, and Crickhowell for the castle ruins.
Parking is on the drive. No pets, I'm afraid. We can provide a travel cot if needed.
