This is Glanusk Lodge. It's on the Glanusk Estate, just outside Crickhowell in Powys. The house is detached, set in its own large, walled garden. You look out over fields and hills.
It sleeps twelve. Seven bedrooms and four bathrooms. Three of those bedrooms are on the ground floor. It's a 4 Star property so it's comfortable and well-equipped, not just basic. It's a big, old house so the ceilings are high and the doors are heavy. It feels solid.
Inside, there's a large lounge with an open fire and a separate dining room. The kitchen has an Aga as well as a conventional electric oven. There's a utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer.
The garden is completely enclosed. There's plenty of parking on the gravel drive.
You can bring up to three dogs. Bedding and towels are provided.
You're right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons. For walking information, the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority site is useful. The National Trust looks after several local properties like Dinefwr and Tredegar House.
Crickhowell is about three miles away. It's a nice little town with shops, pubs and a good butcher. Abergavenny is a ten minute drive for a bigger supermarket. Hay-on-Wye is about half an hour's drive for the bookshops.
If you want to fish or ride, you can arrange that locally. There's a golf course nearby too.
