Wern Farm Barn is on our farm, in Cwmdu. It's a converted barn. You get parking right outside.
It sleeps eight. There are four bedrooms upstairs and two bathrooms. One of the bathrooms is a Jack and Jill style, between the main bedroom and the landing. The stairs are a normal staircase, not a ladder.
Downstairs is mostly open-plan. The kitchen is at one end. There's a proper range cooker, a dishwasher, and a washing machine. The lounge area has a wood burner. We leave you some logs to start with. The other end is a games room with a table tennis table and an Xbox. That room has two single sofa beds in it as well.
The garden is enclosed, which is good if you have dogs or kids. There's a patio with a table and a BBQ.
It's a working farm, so you'll see us and the horses coming and going. Sometimes there’s a bit of noise from tractors, but not late at night. There are two pubs in the village, both about a five minute walk. They do food.
Crickhowell is a ten minute drive. It's a nice little town with a butcher, a baker, some cafes and a co-op. You can walk along the river or the canal there. For a bigger shop, Abergavenny is about twenty minutes away.
You're in the Brecon Beacons here. Pen y Fan is about a forty minute drive if you want to climb that. The National Trust has good walk information. For something closer, you can walk straight from the barn up onto the hill. The views are good.
Tretower Court and Castle is just down the road. Llangorse Lake is about twenty minutes away for watersports or just a walk. Hay-on-Wye is half an hour if you like bookshops.
The place is rated 5 Star. That means it's well-equipped and finished to a good standard. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs. There's a cot and a highchair if you need them.
