The Carriage House
The Carriage House is in Llanfoist, near Abergavenny. It used to be the stable block for Llanfoist House, the big house here. It's detached, so you've got it to yourselves. The garden is enclosed.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms. There are three with en-suites, and then a family bathroom. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and well-equipped. The description says 'substantial' and that's right. It feels spacious. There are two sitting rooms, a big main one and a smaller snug.
The ceilings are beamed upstairs. It's full of character. Please note, the stairs are open and steep in places.
It's in a good spot for walking straight out. You're right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons. Abergavenny town is a short drive or a decent walk away. They've got supermarkets and a few good restaurants. There's a local pub within walking distance.
Facilities wise: you've got parking, WiFi, a washing machine, dishwasher, TV, and a BBQ. Bedding and towels are included. There's a cot and highchair if you need them. One well-behaved dog is welcome. It's decorated for Christmas if you book over that period.
For planning, these sites are useful: Brecon Beacons National Park and National Trust Sugar Loaf and Usk Valley. The Blorenge mountain is right behind you. For a day out, the Big Pit in Blaenavon is worth a visit.
