Little Barn Gilwern

This is Little Barn. It's near Gilwern in Monmouthshire. It's a barn conversion on our farm, Hopyard Farm. We live in the main house. The barn is detached so it's just for you.

It's for two people. One bedroom upstairs, one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and has underfloor heating downstairs, which is nice in the cooler months. The stairs to the bedroom are the original ones, so they're a bit steep and narrow.

There's an enclosed garden with a lawn and a patio. You can use the barbecue. We put a welcome pack and some toiletries in for you when you arrive.

The view from here is good. You can see the Black Mountains and the Sugarloaf. Abergavenny is about ten minutes by car. It's got a castle, shops, and places to eat. It's known for its food festival in September.

You're right on the edge of the Brecon Beacons. For walking, the Sugar Loaf mountain is close, and the Brecon Beacons National Park website has all the route information. You can get canal boat trips from nearby. There's a golf course not far away, and we've got bicycle storage if you bring bikes.

In terms of what's here, there's a washing machine, TV, Wi-Fi, and parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. Sorry, we don't take pets.

For other places to visit, National Trust Southeast Wales has local houses and gardens. Monmouth and Ross-on-Wye are about a twenty-minute drive.
