Church House
This is Church House, in Ulpha. It's the Western Lake District, so it's quiet. More fells than tourists.
It sleeps six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One's a family bathroom with a bath and shower, the other's an ensuite to the main bedroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's been done up nicely but it's not a show home. It's comfortable.
There are two wood burners, one in the living room and one in the dining room. They're good. The kitchen has what you need. The stairs are fine, typical for an old house.
Outside, there's a garden but it's shared with the cottage next door. You also share a barn with a games room. That's got table tennis, pool, and table football in it.
For getting out, you're right in it. The roads and paths straight from the door are for walkers and cyclists. For water, Coniston is about half an hour's drive. You can get boat trips there and on Windermere, which is a bit further.
The nearest town is Broughton-in-Furness, ten minutes by car. It's a small market town with shops, a petrol station, and some very good pubs that do food.
If you're after a bigger day out, things like the South Lakes Safari Zoo, Muncaster Castle, or the Lakes Aquarium are all within a 30 minute drive. The Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway is nearby too.
Practical things: parking for two cars on the drive. Washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and highchair. You can bring up to two dogs.
