Sithean is on our farm, near Taynuilt. It's up a track on the hillside, looking out over Glen Lonan. You get a view of Loch Etive and Ben Cruachan from the main living area.
It sleeps eight, sometimes more with the extra beds up on the gallery. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms. One bathroom has a sauna. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's built into the hill, so you walk in on the top floor into the kitchen and living space. The bedrooms are on the level below, amongst the trees. That lower floor stays cool in summer.
There's a wood burner and underfloor heating. It's always warm. The stairs inside are normal, but the path from the parking area down to the front door has a slope. It's wheelchair accessible with grab rails and a level entrance.
You're on a working farm. We farm regeneratively here. You'll see red deer and maybe a pine marten if you're lucky. Birds of prey are common. It's very quiet.
Taynuilt village is five minutes down the road. It has a shop, a post office, a cafe, and a station with trains to Glasgow. Oban is about twenty minutes away. You can get the ferry to Mull from there. The Forestry and Land Scotland site has details on walks in Glen Nant and elsewhere.
The house is well set up. It has a dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot, highchair, and stairgate. You can bring up to two dogs. There's parking right outside.
For a day out, you can drive to the Cruachan Power Station inside the mountain. Glencoe is about forty minutes away. The coast is close in a few directions.
