This is Invernoe Cottage, near Taynuilt. It's on a big sheep farm, about 5000 acres. The views from here are good, right out over Loch Etive and the mountains.
It sleeps six people. There are four bedrooms and two bathrooms, all on one level so there are no stairs to worry about. It's got a 3 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean, not luxurious.
Getting here is the main thing to know. It's two miles up a rough farm track from the main road. It's fine for normal cars, you just have to take it slow. It means you're properly away from everything.
Because it's a working farm, you'll see sheep. And there's a lot of wildlife around. We've seen red deer on the hill, seals in the loch, and plenty of birds.
The cottage has a big decked area out the front. You can sit there with a drink and just look at the view. There's an enclosed garden too. Inside, it's open plan. There's a wood burning stove, which is good for cooler evenings. It's got the usual things: wifi, TV, washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.
The nearest shop and pub are in Taynuilt, about four miles back down the track. Oban is about eighteen miles away. That's where you'll find supermarkets, more restaurants, and the ferry port for the islands like Mull.
If you want to get out, you're right in the middle of it. You can walk from the door. For a drive, the Ben Cruachan power station tour is interesting. Kilchurn Castle ruins are on Loch Awe. Inveraray with its jail and castle is about a 40 minute drive.
