Nellies Shed

Nellies Shed is out in High Hunsley, on Farm Wolds Road. It's a converted barn, part of a small group of them on a farm. We get deer in the fields behind.

It's listed as sleeping six. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. All the bedrooms have their own bathrooms, which is handy. It's got a 4 Star rating from Visit England. That means it's well looked after and comfortable. It's open plan downstairs.

The building has exposed beams. The stairs are a bit steep, typical for a barn. That's just how they built them.

There's a private, enclosed garden area with a patio and a hot tub. The hot tub is for your use only.

You can bring up to two dogs. The garden is enclosed but it's not fort knox, so if your dog's a proper escape artist, you'll need to watch them.

The farm has about five miles of off-road tracks you can walk on. You can even bring your own horse on holiday if you arrange it with the farm first. They have stables.

The nearest shop and pub is about two miles away in North Newbald. For a bigger town, Beverley is about seven miles. It's got a nice minster and the market is on a Saturday. National Trust East Yorkshire has places like Burton Agnes Hall nearby.

York is about a 40 minute drive if you fancied a day out there. The coast, like Hornsea or Bridlington, is within half an hour or so.

For facilities: it's got a dishwasher, washing machine, TV, and WiFi. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. Everything runs on electricity and that's included in the price.

If you're looking for walks, the Yorkshire Wolds Way is right on the doorstep. For general planning, the Yorkshire Wolds website is useful.
