The Old Stables is in North Cave, just off the A1034 near the M62. It's a single-storey cottage, so everything is on the ground floor. It's detached and you get the garden.
It sleeps four in two bedrooms. One is a super king with an en-suite wet room, the other is a twin with its own bathroom. It's got a 5 Star Gold rating because it's very well-equipped, especially for accessibility. There are grab rails, pull cords, and a walk-in wet room. Everything is flat and wide for wheelchair access.
The kitchen is big and open, with bi-fold doors to the garden. The hob and sink are lower for easier use. There's a dishwasher and washing machine. The main living area has a sofa and two electric armchairs.
Outside is a sensory garden with herbs like lavender and rosemary. It's enclosed. Parking is right there next to the cottage.
There's a pub that does food about a fifteen minute walk away in the next village. Drewton's Farm Shop is close by for supplies and has a good restaurant.
You're about half an hour from the coast at places like Hornsea or Withernsea. Beverley is a fifteen minute drive, it's a nice market town with a Minster. Hull is twenty minutes away, they've got The Deep aquarium and the old town. York is about forty-five minutes if you fancy a day trip.
Because of the location near the M62, it's a straightforward base for getting around East Yorkshire. North Cave Wetlands is local if you like birdwatching.
Facilities include all bedding and towels, WiFi, a cot and highchair, and bike storage. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
