The Cow 'Ouse is one of the barn conversions on our farm at High Hunsley. It's a studio, so everything is in one room. Sleeps two. The bed, sofa, kitchen area, and a dining table are all together in there. There's a shower room through a door.
It's got a 4 Star rating. That means it's nicer than basic, but it's still a converted barn on a farm. It's clean and warm. You've got your own patio with a table and chairs outside the door, overlooking some of the yards.
The farm's quiet. You'll hear birds and sometimes the horses. It's proper countryside. There are other holiday barns here, so you might see other guests come and go, but it's not a busy place.
If you're bringing dogs, that's fine, up to two. We have fields you can walk them in. For horse owners, we can sometimes arrange for you to bring yours too. There's about five miles of tracks around the farm to ride on if we sort it beforehand.
The nearest shop and pub is about two miles away, in North Newbald. You'll need a car. Beverley is about a twenty minute drive. It's a nice market town with proper shops and a minster. The coast at places like Hornsea or Bridlington is about forty minutes.
York is less than an hour away if you fancy a day trip. Good for walking from here, you're on the edge of the Wolds. For planning, the Welcome to Yorkshire site is useful, and National Trust Yorkshire for places like Sledmere House.
Facilities are what you'd expect. Washing machine, parking right outside. Bedding and towels are included. Because it's all open plan, there's no separate bedroom door.
