The Burrow

The Burrow is on a hillside above Gillbeck Farm, about a mile and a half outside Pateley Bridge. It's a one-bedroom place built into the slope, so you're looking right out over the treetops and the valley. The view is the main thing. You'll see sheep, hares, and a lot of birds.

It sleeps two. One bedroom, one bathroom with a walk-in shower. It's got a 4 Star rating, which means it's well-finished. Everything's on one level which is handy. The access road up to it is a farm track, so it's a bit bumpy. You get used to it.

Pateley Bridge is under ten minutes in the car. It's got butchers, bakeries, a few pubs, and a Co-op. The walk down along the woods is lovely, but it's steep coming back up, so most people drive.

You're right in the middle of walking country. The footpaths start from the door. North York Moors walking routes cover this area. Brimham Rocks is about a ten-minute drive. It's managed by the National Trust.

Within half an hour, you've got Grassington, which is where they film the new All Creatures Great and Small. Fountains Abbey is about 25 minutes away. Harrogate is roughly the same. If you want a proper gorge, How Stean is about 20 minutes up the road.

The facilities are all there: parking, bike storage, an electric vehicle charger, dishwasher, washing machine, wifi, and TV. Bedding and towels are included. You can bring two dogs. There's a bit of garden with a table to sit out.
