Fellbeck

Fellbeck is a bungalow on a farm just outside the village of Smelthouses. It's a 4 Star place, so it's comfortable and clean but not fancy. It was converted from a farm building, so it's sturdy and simple.

It sleeps three people. Two bedrooms and one bathroom. The shower is over the bath. Because it's all on one level, there are no stairs to worry about. This makes it easier for people who find stairs difficult.

The bungalow faces south and looks out onto a garden area, which is just yours to use. There's a picnic bench out there. It's very quiet, just sheep and the wind most of the time. You can park right outside the door.

Inside, there's central heating, a TV, and a washing machine. All the bedding and towels are included. You can bring up to two dogs.

There's a pub about half a mile down the lane. It's a proper local and serves food. The nearest shop is about three miles away in Pateley Bridge. That's a small town with a few shops and cafes.

You're right on the edge of the moors here. You can walk straight out from the door. The Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is all around. For a notable walk, Brimham Rocks is about a fifteen minute drive. It's managed by the National Trust.

Other places within a half hour drive include Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal, which is a World Heritage Site. Ripon is a small cathedral city about nine miles away. Harrogate, which is a bit posher with its spa history, is about eleven miles.
