Shire Cottage
Shire Cottage is a stone cottage in Pateley Bridge. It's in a small courtyard just off the High Street. It's quiet back there, but you're only a minute's walk from the shops and pubs.
The cottage sleeps five. There are two bedrooms, both with double beds. One has space for an extra single bed if needed. There's one bathroom with a shower over the bath. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and clean. The stairs are fairly typical for a cottage, so they're a bit steeper than a modern house.
Downstairs is all open plan: kitchen, dining area, and sitting area together. It's a practical space. There's a wood burner for cooler evenings. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a washing machine. Bedding and towels are included. We can provide a cot and a highchair. We accept up to two well-behaved dogs.
You're right in the town. There are a couple of pubs that do food within a few hundred yards. The river runs through the middle of Pateley Bridge, so you can start a walk from the doorstep. For a longer day out, you're on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and inside the Nidderdale National Landscape. The driving is very scenic.
Within about half an hour you can get to places like Ripon, or Fountains Abbey. Brimham Rocks is also close and interesting to walk around. Harrogate is about a 30-minute drive.
This cottage can be booked alongside two others nearby if you're a larger group.
