Shire Cottage is on a small courtyard just off the High Street in Pateley Bridge. It's stone-built, one of three cottages around a shared yard. You get the whole cottage to yourselves.
It sleeps five. Two bedrooms, both with double beds, and a family bathroom with a shower over the bath. The bathroom's upstairs with the bedrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-kept.
The living area is open-plan downstairs. There's a kitchen with a dishwasher and washing machine, and a table that seats four. The stairs are fairly steep, like most old cottages. We provide bedding, towels, a cot and a highchair if you need them.
You can bring two dogs. There's no private garden, but the courtyard is right outside your door.
The High Street is a two-minute walk away. There are a couple of pubs that do food, a few cafes, and a good butcher and bakery. The River Nidd runs through the town, so you can start a walk from the doorstep.
You're in the Nidderdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the Yorkshire Dales National Park border is close. For a good day out, Brimham Rocks is about a 15-minute drive. Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal are near Ripon, which is roughly 11 miles away. Harrogate is about a 30-minute drive.
