Bwlchgroes

Bwlchgroes is in Garnfadryn, on the Llŷn Peninsula. It's a detached stone farmhouse. We think it dates from about 1840, possibly earlier. You're on your own up here, just fields and views.

It sleeps four. Three bedrooms, two bathrooms. One bathroom is downstairs with a walk-in shower and a freestanding bath. It's got a 5 Star rating. It's comfortable and well-kept, not just fancy for the sake of it. The stairs are old farmhouse stairs, so they're a bit steeper and narrower than modern ones.

The main room has the original beams and a big inglenook fireplace with a wood burner. There's a decent sized TV and a table to eat at. The kitchen is through an archway and has what you'll need. The windows are small and deep-set, like they are in old places. You get a view of the sea from the front.

Outside, there's a small slate patio at the front for a morning coffee, looking over the fields to Porth Neigwl bay. Around the back there's a bigger slate area with a table, surrounded by trees. It's quiet, just farmland.

Porth Neigwl beach, that's Hell's Mouth, is about a ten minute drive. It's a long surfing beach. You can walk the path there for the views. Other good beaches like Whistling Sands (Porthor) and Morfa Nefyn are within half an hour.

The nearest village with a shop and a pub is probably Llanengan, about five minutes by car. For a bigger shop, Pwllheli is about nine miles. Abersoch is six miles away if you want watersports or a busier atmosphere. Aberdaron at the very tip is roughly seven miles.

The location is good for getting to most of the peninsula within thirty minutes. You can be walking the coast path or up Garnfadryn hill itself quite easily.

Facilities: it has parking, a washing machine, dishwasher, WiFi, and the wood burner. Bedding and towels are included. We allow two dogs.
