Porthysgaden

Porthysgaden is a semi-detached farmhouse on our working sheep and beef farm in Rhôs y llan. It's part of a farm and campsite. You're in the countryside but you can see the sea from here.

It sleeps six people in three bedrooms. There's one bathroom. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's an old Welsh farmhouse, so it's solid and comfortable, not modern.

The big thing here is the location. You can walk straight from the farm gate onto the Wales Coastal Path. In about fifteen minutes you're down at Towyn beach, which is sandy. There's also a smaller, quieter cove called Porthysgaden itself, just along from the farm. There's a slipway there, so it's popular with divers.

We've got a few acres here, so kids can run around safely. The garden is for cottage guests. You'll see farm animals, but it's not a petting zoo. It's a working farm.

Aberdaron and Abersoch are about a twenty minute drive. Pwllheli is similar. For a day out, the mountains of Snowdonia National Park are half an hour away. There are castles nearby, like Criccieth. The local shop and pub are half a mile down the lane. The pub does food.

Facilities: We've included things like a cot, highchair, and stairgate for young children. There's a woodburning stove for winter, a TV, and WiFi. The washing machine is in the utility room. Parking is right outside. The entrance is level and wheelchair accessible. We allow up to three well-behaved dogs.

If you're planning walks or days out, these sites are useful: Visit Snowdonia and National Trust Wales.
