The Dairy is a detached stone cottage on our land, up on the headland above Little Haven. It used to be a dairy, but we've converted it. It sleeps four, but there's only one proper bedroom. That bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite shower room. The other two beds are up in the mezzanine area above the living space. They're single beds, low to the floor. You get to them via a steep ship's ladder. It's not suitable for very young children or anyone with mobility issues.
The main room has a high vaulted ceiling with beams. There's a wood-burning stove. The thick stone walls are lime rendered, so the air feels fresh. The water from the tap is from our own spring, filtered. The big glass door opens onto a gravelled patio with a table, and then there's a lawned garden. You can see a bit of the sea through the trees.
To get to the coast, you walk down our lane for about a mile to reach Mill Haven beach. It's good for rock pools. From there, you can join the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Little Haven village is about a mile and a half away. It has a couple of pubs, cafes, and a small sandy beach. The Swan pub does food and looks over the bay.
Within half an hour's drive you've got St Davids for the cathedral, Newgale Sands for a long beach, and Skomer Island for the puffins (you need to book the boat). The National Trust looks after a lot of the coastline here.
Facilities included are all listed. The WiFi works, but it's rural. We allow up to two well-behaved dogs. There's parking right outside. Bedding and towels are provided.
You can book this cottage on its own, or together with The Barn next door if you need more space for a group.
