Collingwood Cottage

Collingwood Cottage is in Marloes. It's a village right on the coast in Pembrokeshire. The cottage itself is detached, modern inside and has solid wood floors downstairs.

It sleeps six people. Four bedrooms, two bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. It's well set up and comfortable. The garden is enclosed, which is good if you're bringing a dog. We take one well-behaved pet.

The village has a pub. There's a shop about a mile away in Dale for basics. For a takeaway pizza, Runwayskiln is good. More pubs are in Little Haven, a few minutes' drive.

The main thing is the coast. You're about a mile from Marloes Sands, which is a huge beach when the tide's out. Good for surfing and walking. Musselwick Sands and West Dale are close too. The coastal path runs right past. The section from Marloes to St Ann's Head is dramatic.

For wildlife, boat trips go from Martin's Haven to Skomer Island to see the puffins. It's popular, so you need to book. You can sometimes see dolphins from the headland.

Dale is a five minute drive. It's sheltered, good for sailing, paddleboarding, that sort of thing. There's a cafe there too.

Further out, you've got St Davids with the cathedral, about twenty minutes. Pembroke Castle is about half an hour. For a family day out, Folly Farm is maybe forty minutes.

In the cottage you've got a wood burner, dishwasher, washing machine, WiFi, TV. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking for two cars on the drive.
