The Oast House is part of the Oakhanger Estate out here in Hampshire. It's just the one building, a proper oast house. It's old, and got the round house bit where the kiln was, and a cone roof.
Sleeps two, one bedroom up in the round bit. You get views from that window straight across the vineyard, which is quite nice. Big bathroom downstairs with a jacuzzi bath.
It's on a proper working estate. You've got about 80 acres of vines and woods and a couple of fishing lakes. There's peacocks, rare breed chickens, sheep. You'll see them all wandering about.
Inside is modern, done up well. It's got a 5 Star rating, which just means everything's there and works. You've got parking right outside, a garden area, an EV charger, and WiFi.
The stairs up to the bedroom are a bit steep and narrow. It's that sort of building.
Nice walks straight from the door on the estate tracks. For a local walk, Selborne is about ten minutes' drive. You can do the Zig Zag path there, up through the hangers. Gilbert White's House is there too.
Alton is a few miles away for shops. Jane Austen's house at Chawton is near there. The Watercress steam railway runs from Alton. That's good for a wet afternoon.
For a bigger garden or day out, there's Alice Holt Forest not far, and Petworth is about a forty minute drive.
Facilities wise: it's all there. Washing machine, dishwasher, bedding included. They've got a cot and highchair in case you need it. No pets.
