The Hop Cottage

The Hop Cottage is on the A417 in Trumpet, outside our house where we live. You look out over our cider orchard. It's a semi-detached old hop house from the 1700s.

It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's a 4 Star place, which means it's comfortable and well looked after. We've kept the old beams and a hop pocket. There's a private patio out the back.

The stairs are original, so they're steep and twist a bit. You'll need to watch your head on some of the beams if you're tall.

The local pub is about five minutes walk up the road. They do food. The nearest proper shop is in Ledbury, about three miles away.

Ledbury is a nice market town with independent shops and places to eat. Hereford is about eleven miles, that's got the cathedral and the Mappa Mundi. For walking, you're right on the edge of the Malvern Hills, and the Forest of Dean is about forty minutes by car.

There are several National Trust places within half an hour or so. Berrington Hall and Brockhampton are close. The Herefordshire Black and White Trail is good for a drive to see the old villages.

For facilities, it's got what you'd expect: WiFi, TV, a washing machine, dishwasher. Bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. No pets, I'm afraid.
