The Hop Cottage
The Hop Cottage is in Trumpet, just off the A417. It's on our land, next to our house, and looks out over our cider orchard. It's a semi-detached place, used to be a hop house from the 1700s.
It sleeps eight. Four bedrooms, three bathrooms. It's got a 4 Star rating. We renovated it but kept the old beams and a hop pocket. The stairs are original, so they're a bit steep and turn a corner. There's a patio outside that gets the sun, overlooking the orchard.
There's a pub that does food about a five minute walk away. The nearest shop is in Ledbury, which is three miles. Ledbury's a nice town, lots of black and white timbered buildings and independent shops.
Hereford is about eleven miles away. The cathedral and the Mappa Mundi are there. You've got the River Wye nearby for fishing or canoeing. The Forest of Dean is about a 35 minute drive if you fancy that.
For days out, there are a few National Trust places within half an hour: Berrington Hall, Brockhampton, and The Weir Garden.
What's here: Washing machine, dishwasher, TV, wifi. Bedding and towels are included. Parking for a couple of cars right outside. No pets, sorry.
