Church View Cottage and Barn is in Hatherleigh. It sleeps up to twelve in total, but it's actually two buildings. There's the main cottage, and behind it, a separate barn. You can book just the cottage if you want a smaller group.
The cottage has two bedrooms. One has a kingsize bed, the other has a double with a single bunk above it. There's also a double sofa bed and a single pull-out bed in the living area downstairs, so it's flexible. The stairs are steep, like most old cottages.
The barn is across the courtyard. It has a small kitchen area and a shower room downstairs. Upstairs is open plan, with a kingsize bed, a single pull-out bed, and an alcove with another single bed. It's good if some of your group, especially kids, want their own space.
There's an enclosed courtyard garden between the two. The kitchen and utility room in the cottage have what you need.
Hatherleigh is a small town. You can walk to the pubs and the shop. It's on the Tarka Trail and the Devon Coast to Coast cycle route, so it's popular with walkers and cyclists. They have an arts festival in summer and a carnival in November.
For days out, Dartmoor is right on the doorstep. The north Devon coast, like Westward Ho!, is about half an hour's drive. National Trust Arden has some good properties nearby, and the Dartmoor National Park site is useful for walking routes.
Facilities: Both places have WiFi, TVs, and wood burners. The cottage has a dishwasher and washing machine. There's parking on site. Bedding and towels are included. We allow up to two dogs. There's a cot and highchair if you need them.
