Peartree Cottage
Peartree Cottage is in Ashbury, it's a rural spot a couple of miles from Okehampton. The cottage is attached to our house, but it's completely private. You get your own enclosed garden and patio. We have about two acres of land here. There's a wildflower meadow you can walk in, and a wildlife pond which is fenced off.
It sleeps four people in two bedrooms. Both bedrooms have their own bathrooms. It's a 4 Star Gold property, so it's comfortable and well kept. The stairs inside are standard for a cottage.
There's a shop and a pub a couple of miles away in the village. Okehampton itself is close and it's your gateway to Dartmoor National Park. The train station there now runs to Exeter, which is useful.
You can drive to Bude for the beach in about half an hour. The north coast fishing villages like Port Isaac and Boscastle are also within easy reach for a day out. For walking, the coast path is spectacular, or there's the cycle trails on Dartmoor.
A bit further afield, within a 30 minute drive or so, you've got places like the RHS Garden Rosemoor, Castle Drogo, and Lydford Gorge.
As for what's here: there's a woodburning stove, a dishwasher, a washing machine, a BBQ, and bike storage. All the bedding and towels are included. There's parking right outside. We allow up to two dogs. We've also got a cot, highchair, and stairgate if you need them.
